Continual ground settlement means that the landfill is constantly moving. This, in combination with saturated landfill gas, means that sooner or later low points are formed in the suction piping, and these can then create water locks and lead to operating problems.
Our approach is based on using high gas speeds and high vacuum to draw out the condensate that gathers in the suction piping and collect it in a condensate trap. This solution also allows the suction lines to be “blown out” to clear water locks, which is not possible with systems that use larger diameter piping. This permits maintenance of the suction lines and maximises the operational reliability of the plant.
